Pasley's Mortuary announces the passing of Alverna Vermell Hayes, 59, of Charleston, SC who answered the Summons of our heavenly father to retire from the labors here on earth to her rewards in heaven on Monday, April 18, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family.

The relatives and friends of Ms. Alverna Vermell Hayes will celebrate her life on Saturday, April 23, 2022, 12 noon in Wesley United Methodist Church, 445 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC., A walkthrough visitation will be held at the mortuary Friday from 4-7PM.

Ms. Hayes leaves to cherish her memories her children, Takesha J., and Michael Hayes (Fiancée DeFaria); Fiancé, James “Shortymack” Jackson; siblings, Latrell Vandross (Irving) and Albert Hayes Jr.; grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ms. Hayes is preceded in death by her brother, the late Zandell D. Hayes
