Luedna Capers

The relatives and friends of Mrs. LuEdna “Granny” Smalls Capers, 102, are invited to attend her Funeral Services on Friday, June 2, 2017, 11:00 am in Old Ashley Baptist Center, 3275 Old Pond Rd., Johns Island, SC.  Rev. Harold Jefferson, Officiating. Interment will follow in Greater St. John AME Cemetery. Mrs. Capers will lie in state at Greater St. John AME Church 4326 Betsy Kerrison Pwky, Johns Island, SC this evening at 6 o’clock, where the family will be receiving friends from 7-8pm. Mrs. Capers will lie state Friday in The Old Ashley Baptist Center at 10 am.

Mrs. Capers leaves to cherish her memories her children, Ruth Johnson (Thomas), Jacob Smalls (Earlene), Samuel Smalls (Delores), William Smalls, Deborah S. Gibbs, Daniel Smalls, Joe Thomas McNeil and Carolyn Miller (William); step son, Charles Capers; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives.

Mrs. Capers was  preceded in death by her son, Rev. Ernest L. Smalls (Pearl).
